Our Mission

Invest in Youth enhances the academic abilities, self-confidence and life prospects of struggling learners in the Seattle Public Schools.

Invest in Youth fulfills its mission by pairing adult volunteer tutors with academically challenged 3-5th grade students for one day per week after school. This hour of one-on-one time between adult and child focuses on academic skill-building activities and preparatory materials for an end of the year event. Without the dedication of this self-disciplined and consistent tutor corp, Invest in Youth students would not have the opportunity to focus on challenges presented by their math and reading homework.

In a nutshell, students benefit from the teaching and the development of the relationship with their tutors and the tutors experience the rewards of enriching young lives.
