Helping our tutors bring their best
Welcome Tutors,
My guess is that you're visiting this link because you are searching for new tricks in the tutoring trade. Congratulations, you’ve come to the right place! I have created this space to try and give you tutoring resources that might help you through the year. At present, I’ve compiled a list of websites that you may want to peruse. Some of the websites are geared toward the students and others speak specifically to your needs. Both will be useful to you! I have also listed a few quick activities to add to your “Tutor’s Bag of Tricks.” My hope is to continue to provide you with more tools throughout the year. Soon I’ll introduce games, tutoring tips and strategies that I can’t possibly share with everyone during our tutoring sessions. Keep visiting to look for updates! Happy browsing! Thanks for all you do! If you have questions about any of the material provided here, feel free to send them my way: rsosinski@investinyouth.net

Using the Tutor Tool Kit
You may choose to use this kit in any way you see fit! You can certainly check out the sites on your own time. If you decide that one site might be particularly helpful to your student, go ahead and introduce them to it during a tutoring session. If you have access to a computer during your session, walk the student through the search. It is imperative that they learn how to use the web to enhance their learning. Assist them with web navigation and be sure to explain the purpose behind it! If a computer is unavailable during your tutoring hour or you find that the computer does not allow you to access a website because of school firewalls, don’t get discouraged! Just try and get some of the material off the website before your next session (this will be more difficult if it’s a website with games, in that case, speak to me and we’ll design a game to mimic the one on the computer).
